Russian bath is erected not only from timber or traditional logs. Durable and environmentally friendly brick is also an excellent material for its walls. How to build a good bath out of it.

A brick bath, unlike a log house, is more afraid of moisture. Therefore, the place for construction should be chosen no closer than 30 m from the natural reservoir, since the spring floods do not exclude the threat of flooding the site.

Before laying the foundation of a bath, it is necessary to take into account the fire prevention rules that prescribe the construction of a brick bath no closer than 12 m from your neighbors' house when firewood burns its stove. If the furnace is planned to be electric or gas, the distance between the buildings can be reduced to 5 m.

The brick bath in the form of an extension to a residential house is very convenient. There is a savings of building materials and ease of laying utilities. In addition, in winter, you do not have to rake the passages to the bathhouse from the snow and run around the yard with an armful of towels or linen.

Projects of a bath from a turnkey brick in Tolyatti and Samara

Advantage of a brick over the rounded log and the pro-thinned-out bar consists in higher strength and durability of material. In addition, it should be noted another advantage of the brick bath - less time-consuming maintenance of the building and faster introduction of the brick bath into operation. The latter is due to the fact that the brick bath does not require shrinkage, which usually takes place during the year.

The reason why some gardeners prefer a log bath is the supposedly lower cost of work. But here the opinion is contradictory, since with the same size and project of the bath, the costs of logs and bricks will be almost the same in value.

The main drawback of brick in the construction of the walls of the bath is the thermal conductivity and its high cost. When building brick walls of the bath it is better to choose lightweight bricks with voids. They possess higher thermal insulation. Masonry walls can be made in one row of bricks, and with a width of masonry, for example, two bricks. The thickness of the walls depends on what time of year the bath will be used and whether it will additionally be warmed.

The construction of a brick bath begins with the construction of the foundation. Since the brick box of the bath has a large weight, the foundation for the bath must have high strength. It is best to use the construction of the pile foundation, the depth of construction of which should be below the level of soil freezing.

After the foundation of the bath is erected, it is necessary to carefully carry out its waterproofing and proceed to the laying of the brick box of the bath, which begins with the laying of the corners of the building.

Responsible moments of the brick bath project:

1. Bath windows should be oriented to the west, so you can save on its coverage.

2. Entry is from the south side. In winter, there are usually fewer snowdrifts near it, which will melt faster in the spring.

3. For the steam room the optimal size is from 2x2 to 3.5x3.5 m.

4. The door to the steam room has a size of 1.7 x 0.6 m.

5. The steam room window always opens to the outside, is located a meter from the floor and has a size of 40x40 cm.

6. Shelves are made 70-80 cm wide with a height of 75 cm from the floor. There should be a distance of 105 cm from the upper shelf to the ceiling.

7. It is better to have a stove with a firebox in the dressing room, and stones in the steam room.

8. The door between the waiting room and the washing compartment has dimensions of 1.7 m by 0.6 m.

9. Opening of all the doors of the bath should be carried out only outside, as stated by safety precautions.

Starting the construction of a brick bath, first of all it is necessary to choose the design of a brick bath for the soul. Planning options there is a lot, everyone can pick up something in accordance with their financial capabilities and the size of the site under construction.

3x3 small brick bath

Such material as a brick is used in construction quite often, because it allows you to save money, and building a bath from brick will be cheaper than from a solid bar, therefore bath projects from brick are chosen as the cheapest option.

Small 3x3 brick bath (project)

Bathhouse is small and suitable for a small suburban area, where there are no high requirements for buildings. Such a project will be easy to implement independently even to a person without serious experience in construction.

Such a low-budget project includes:

  • Use in the construction of strip foundations. Under the brick walls, it fits best.
  • One window in the sink. In principle, you can do without it - then the construction will be even easier.
  • You can choose any device for the roof of the bath, but we recommend the material Ondulin - it is an inexpensive and modern material.

A small project bath 6x4 of brick

This bath includes three rooms: a relaxation area, a steam room and a shower area.

Bath 6x4 - room space

Each room has a window, which will save electricity during the daytime. It is recommended to place window openings in the washing room and steam room at the level of the human head. When organizing the roof of the project, you can provide a small shed, which will be very useful if you like to sit after a bath with friends.

What is the most popular brick sauna project today?

On the Internet today, you can easily download any bath projects for free, most of them are of good quality and made wisely.

Currently, brick baths are built using three technologies:

  1. When building walls in them leave air gaps from 4 to 6 cm for thermal insulation.
  2. First, a brick wall is erected, and only then it is sheathed with insulation from the inside.
  3. A wall is built of two brick rows - external and internal. Insulating material is poured between them.

Inside, in all projects, wall paneling is used for the bath - it is upholstered with walls.

But the brick has a higher thermal conductivity, so the projects of brick baths should provide good thermal insulation in order to keep the heat generated as long as possible. It is necessary to warm not only the walls, but also the ceiling in the bath, also a warm floor in the bath will help to preserve heat.

A significant proportion of heat loss often falls on the window zone. Experts do not recommend saving on the quality of these elements and when designing they are advised to think through their installation in advance.

Another brick brick project can be viewed on the video:

Construction of the bath, like any other building, should begin with the drafting of the project. In essence, the project is a detailed plan of the foundation, load-bearing walls, partitions, ceilings, roofing and interiors. In addition, the drawing must take into account many aspects that are necessary for the steam room to be built with minimal cost, while having the maximum comfort, and served for a long time.

We select the project for the construction of a brick bath

Any architectural masterpiece can be made of brick.Because this material is durable and easy to use, due to its small size. Designs brick baths are truly gorgeous - the most unimaginable forms, with an unusual layout of rooms and columns. Here any design approach becomes possible.

And all you need to know in order to build such a building is how to build the bearing walls correctly, how to arrange the external walls with what masonry, and how thick the internal ones should be. The project will help you plan the work and calculate the number of purchased building materials.

Advantages of brick baths

Any project of a brick bath with a rest room provides specific material for the construction of buildings. And despite the fact that for buildings of this kind “traditional” material is wood, it cannot boast of a long life. In addition, wood is a fire hazardous material, which is also undesirable for bath buildings.

Brick baths have the following advantages:

  • Durability.
  • Excellent thermal insulation quality, which is one of the most important parameters for a bath.
  • Such buildings do not stand out from the main buildings of the site.
  • Aesthetics of appearance and undemanding in additional finishing.
  • The ability to build a building of any configuration.

About the foundation, roofing and laying

The correct design of the bath should be accurate, taking into account all the properties of the material. Documentation must be completed with a complete set of plans and drawings, made by hand or by computer program.

Let's talk about the most important points in the construction of a bathhouse:

  • Foundation.

Tip! The bottom of the foundation should be laid slightly below the freezing of the soil. Its width depends on the thickness of the walls. That is, you need to add 10 cm on each side of the building.

The foundation of a steam room of brick should be designed depending on the climatic conditions characteristic of your area. Ribbons are most often used, since they are characterized by sufficient strength and are able to withstand the massive walls of the building.

  • Steam room roof   also completely dependent on climate conditions. The main requirement is sufficient warming of the roof, which is carried out with mineral wool.

Since the warm air tends upwards, the roof insulation is a very important procedure.

  • Masonry.   Most often, the projects of baths, executed both in one and in two floors, have brickwork with single or multi-row ligation. The mile outside walls should be done with half a brick.

The inner part should be separated by an air gap, which should have a thickness of brick. It turns out that the total thickness of the walls in a standard building is one and a half bricks. This indicator may vary depending on the climate in your region. If the climatic conditions are rather harsh, then a well laying should be applied, inside of which there is a warming sand, slag or expanded clay deposit.

What is order?

Very often, in the process of designing structures made of brick, so-called “orders” are envisaged, that is, the scheme clearly states how many rows should be contained in the wall, how to lay the brick, indicate the location of the walls, etc. Such plans literally indicates the number of rows and recommendations for laying each row. In other words, order   - This is a detailed step by step instructions for the construction of the building.

To deviate from these figures during construction is highly undesirable. Even if you are planning to build a bath of unusual shape with your own hands. It is best to focus on the already finished project of a 6x6 brick bath with a terrace, exposing it to some modifications. This will save you from a number of errors.

Choosing a stove for a bath

Any project of a brick sauna stove has significant differences from traditional stoves designed to heat a home. Not for nothing, such furnaces are called “heaters”, that is, they have a specially equipped “pocket” designed for heating piles of stones. That is why such furnaces are quickly heated and have a high heat capacity.

As a rule, brick sauna design projects provide compact construction, the price of which is relatively low. However, the high-quality building will have to spend money, because nothing is free.

Drawings for sauna stoves

Nowadays there are two types of sauna stoves:

  1. Traditional brick.
  2. Metal, which are sold in finished form and require only installation.

Designs of brick furnaces are the most popular these days. Back in ancient times, massive masonry was used, which was mixed in a sand-clay solution. To this day, this option is considered the best for getting dry steam.

Tip! For those places that are exposed to open fire, it is recommended to use fire-resistant chamotte brick.

For the construction of the furnace can be used as an ordinary ceramic building bricks, and facing, but in no case a double silicate brick M 150, which is not designed for high temperatures.

Depending on the design, the projects of brick stoves for a bath provide for two options for the firebox:

  • Grid-iron   It has a separate blower, through which a powerful high-temperature flame is created. At the same time, the air in the steam room, as well as the masonry, are heated very quickly.

Another indisputable advantage of this design is that the furnace is not demanding on the quality of the fuel. That is, if you have freshly prepared or even raw wood - they can be successfully used for heating.

  • Bezkolosnikovy.   The grateless firebox is very easy to maintain, as well as economical, and therefore is just the perfect option for careful use of firewood. However, raw wood for such a furnace is not suitable.

Conclusion

In this article we reviewed the main points that should be paid attention to when creating a bath project. Given all these factors, you can certainly create a steam room of your dreams, which will serve you as a place to relax for many years.

It is traditionally considered that the best bath is made of classic wood, but today it is increasingly losing ground to a more alternative option - the brick steam room. This trend is dictated by the many advantages of bricks that make it very attractive for building a bath. But, of course, there are downsides to be reckoned with. That is why if you decide to build a steam room out of bricks with your own hands, for you it will not be superfluous to know the features of the material, as well as to get acquainted with the phased construction technology and photos - all this will help you to realize your own bath project as successfully as possible.

Pros and cons of a brick bath

You just can not decide whether you should build a steam room out of bricks or not? Advantages and disadvantages of this material will help.

  • the brick is distinguished by high refractoriness, therefore it is much more fireproof than classic materials for a bath;
  • using a brick, you can bring to life an architectural project of virtually any configuration, so if you want to build a non-standard steam room, the material will allow you to realize your plans;
  • brick is very durable, so the bath will serve you for several decades.

Brick Country Bathhouse

  • brick has a high heat capacity, which melts such a bath longer than wood;
  • the material has low vapor conductivity, so if you do not take care of high-quality vapor barrier, it will absorb moisture and damp;
  • a good brick is not cheap, so the construction of such a dacha will be more expensive than building a traditional steam room made of wood.

If for you the advantages of a brick bath outweigh its disadvantages, proceed to construction.

Foundation laying

The foundation for a brick bath is laid as follows:

  • Dig along the perimeter of the future pair of pegs - they will be your reference points in the work.
  • Dig a trench at least 1 m deep.
  • Cover the hole with sand by 20 cm and tamp carefully.
  • On top of the sand lay a layer of rubble in 10-15 cm.

Tip To crushed gravel well, it can be pre-mixed with a small amount of cement mortar.

  • Again, lay a layer of sand, and behind it - another ball of rubble.
  • Place the formwork on the resulting “pie” and fix it with a reinforcement cage.
  • Fill the foundation pit with cement mortar and smooth it with a rule.
  • When the cement is dry, lay out the base of two or three rows of bricks. In the uppermost row, leave two ventilation holes: 15x15 cm in size on two opposite sides. You also need to leave holes for plumbing and sanitary.

Foundation laying

Walling and roofing

For the construction of walls should be used red brick. The required amount of material is easy to determine: divide the area of the bath box (multiplied by each other, the total height and total wall width) by the area of the selected brick.

Tip When calculating, add to the resulting figure 5% in case there are broken bricks in the batch.

Laying brick in two ways:

  1. The first is single row. The so-called chain system, according to which the bricks are alternately stacked across and along. This laying is quite complicated in execution, but allows you to build very strong walls.
  2. The second is multi-row. Such a scheme provides for the alternation of one transverse brick with five longitudinal. Its main advantage is significant material savings. But in terms of strength, the multi-row method is inferior to the single-row one.

For the adhesion of bricks, prepare a solution of cement, lime, sand and water. It should turn plastic, but not liquid. The optimum thickness of the mortar layer is 10 mm.

The construction of the walls of the bath

After the walls go to the construction of the roof:

  • lay on the brick walls rafters or logs - the base of the roof;
  • tamp the crate on the base;
  • fix on the crate roofing material: decking, metal tile, slate.

Waterproofing and vapor barrier

When the main construction work is completed, proceed to the hydro- and vapor barrier. They can be carried out by two methods: painting and pasting.

The painting variant implies covering all the internal surfaces of the bath with various coating materials: bituminous mastics, acrylic suspensions, epoxy resins, rubber gels — all of these compounds are able to provide brick construction with good protection from moisture.

The pasting method involves coating the surfaces with rolled or panel insulators. The most commonly used ruberoid and foil foamed polyethylene. They are either glued to the work surface, or fixed with wooden slats. Seams and corners are sealed with special aluminum tape.

Important! Before using rolled or tiled insulators, all the slits of the bath should be covered with bitumen mastic.

You can also combine these two methods - stick the roofing material or polyethylene foam directly on the coating material.

Bath insulation

After waterproofing bath need to be warmed. Start from the walls:

  • tamp the crate on the waterproofing layer;
  • fill crates spans with thermoplates;
  • fix the fiberglass to the crate with a stapler, and then lay the foil on top.

Insulation for a bath

Warming of a floor of a bath can be executed as follows:

  • on top of the waterproofing lay the plate foam or foam;
  • fix metal grid on the plates;
  • pour a thin layer of concrete on top.

As for the insulation of the ceiling, here you can use both the already mentioned foam panels, and mineral wool or foil-coated fiberglass:

  • tamp the sheathing on the ceiling surface and fill it with insulation;
  • close insulation with foil and plywood.

Important! Before insulating the ceiling, the crate and plywood must be treated with antiseptics.

And now you can proceed to the interior decoration of the steam room.

Thus, the construction of a brick sauna with its own hands requires a lot of time and effort, but this is an absolutely realizable task. Follow the instructions, thinking through each stage of construction, and then you can get a full-fledged steam room, even without professional help.

The foundation for a bath do it yourself: video

Brick bath: photo

Bath is an invariable attribute of all summer residents and owners of country houses. Nowadays, the services of construction companies are a pretty expensive pleasure, but you want to build a bath. Therefore, a good solution would be to build a bath with your own hands. Since the brick is more durable, reliable and less fire-dangerous than the traditional wooden log house, most of the gardeners prefer this building material.

The construction of a brick bath with your hands requires some skills and knowledge of technology. But if you carefully study this article, to resolve this issue is not difficult. In addition, this article will provide step-by-step instructions, we will briefly tell you about the construction of the foundation and roof, focusing on the technology of properly laying brick walls, also help you choose a quality brick, give some tips on insulation and waterproofing of premises.

Advantages and disadvantages

Of course, the ideal building materials do not exist. Therefore, brick, like any other material, has its advantages. Consider them below.

  • Durability. With proper installation and operation of such a building can be used for more than 100 years!
  • Environmental friendliness. Brick does not emit any chemicals when heated.
  • Fireproof. The probability of ignition of the brick bath is almost zero.
  • Design. Since the brick structure is very stable, it is possible to build a structure of various shapes and sizes, to create an unusual, interesting layout, and so on. In addition, the brick itself, if the external walls to build from a decorative look, looks quite attractive and solid.
  • Brick does not rot and is not affected by fungus and other microorganisms.
  • The shrinkage period of a brick bath is much less than that of a wooden log or timber bath.

There are also a number of drawbacks.

  • High cost of material. A very controversial opinion of most inexperienced craftsmen. In fact, the differences in price when building a bath of the same size and the same projects are minimal.
  • High heat capacity. To warm up the brick bath, it will take several times longer than to heat the same wooden bath.
  • High thermal conductivity. The brick conducts heat and cold well, but this problem is solved by high-quality vapor barrier.
  • Hygroscopicity. Brick walls can absorb moisture, which will inevitably lead to deformation and destruction of walls. The problem can be solved by installing a layer of waterproofing.
  • Due to the low vapor conductivity of the brick tend to change color and collapse. Save from this good vapor barrier and ventilation.

The choice of location and brick for a bath

For the construction of the bath the best option is the use of white silicate or slightly less expensive red clay brick. Since this material is produced at high temperatures, it becomes a monolithic, strong and reliable raw material. It is because of its technical characteristics that such a brick is used in the construction of the stove-heater.

In addition to these two types, for the construction of the walls of the bath using ceramic solid corrugated brick brand M100 or M125, solid solid brick M100 or M175. The dimensions of each are the same - 25x12x6.5 cm. The retail price varies from 10 to 15 rubles.

In addition to the basic building material you will need:

  • Waterproofing material (rolled, bulk).
  • Steam insulation material.
  • Metal fasteners (bolts, nails, screws and so on).
  • Timber for interior cladding and mounting battens.
  • Roofing material.
  • Beams for truss system.
  • Armature for the foundation.
  • Sand.
  • Rubble or broken bricks and other materials.

The most basic rule when choosing a site for construction is humidity. Bath brick should be built on a dry area. If there is a reservoir nearby, then the distance from it should exceed 30 meters.

If you plan to use firewood as fuel, the distance from neighboring buildings should be 15 m, and if gas or electricity, then the distance can be safely reduced to 5–6 m. Also, to save money, you can attach the bath to the main house, thereby making it easier posting all communications.

From the tools you will need:

  • Trowel.
  • Shovel.
  • Concrete mixer.
  • Plumb.
  • Building level.
  • Plywood for formwork.
  • Square.
  • Roulette.
  • Hammer pickaxe.
  • Wedges.
  • Patching
  • Cord mooring and other tools.

Design

First you need to make a project, a drawing of the future construction. It is necessary to indicate all the features of the building: from the appearance, the number of rooms and the overall dimensions to the wiring diagram of all communications, the calculation of the required amount of materials and weight distribution of the structure.

The simplest bath projects consist of one room, which is both a steam room, and a washroom, and a dressing room. But this option is not always convenient, especially when several people use the sauna. Therefore, in most projects has available:

  • Steam room. It is arranged as a sauna with dry steam or as a traditional Russian bath. During construction, taking into account safety rules, it is important to install the door of the steam room so that it opens outwards.

Important!   Experts do not recommend building a steam room with high ceilings, the height from floor to ceiling should not exceed 2.5 m, since the construction will have to spend additional financial resources, time and effort,   and to warm up to the desired temperature of such a room will take much longer.

  • Recreation room. You can sit in it, chat and even have a snack.
  • Dressing room or dressing room. If the bath area is limited, then, in addition to wardrobes, you can install benches, chairs or chairs, a table and even a sofa. Also in this room is usually stored fuel and bath accessories.
  • Washing (represented shower or pool).
  • Veranda.

For example, if the bath is being built as an extension to the main residential building, the washing room can also not be equipped, as its bathroom will play its role.

If you want to save, on the Internet you can find ready-made projects of brick baths and detailed instructions to them.

Foundation

Having on hand already ready project of the future bath, it is possible to start the first stage of construction - the construction of the foundation. The base under the brick bath may be different. The choice of type depends on a large number of factors, among them: soil composition, climate, region, level of soil freezing and depth of groundwater, and so on.

If you plan to arrange the basin in the sink, then it requires a separate foundation, as, indeed, for the heater.

Since the brick structure is rather heavy, the foundation must be powerful enough to withstand the weight of the bath for many decades. The most common is a strip foundation. It can be either shallow or deep, consist of concrete blocks, brick or cement mortar. Consider briefly the last option, since the technology of its construction is no different from the technology of construction for any other building:

  1. The first step is to clear the area of small debris, twigs, bushes, and so on.
  2. After carry out the layout according to the project. Wooden pegs are placed in the corners and along the walls, and a thread is drawn between them.
  3. Dig a trench with a depth of 0.3–0.8 m and a width of 25–40 cm, depending on the thickness of the walls and their construction. Consider that such a foundation should be located at least a meter above the groundwater level.
  4. A layer (10–20 cm) of sand is covered to the bottom, moistened with water and tamped tightly.
  5. On top of the sand is placed the same layer of rubble or broken stone, moistened, carefully tamped.
  6. A layer (sometimes several layers) of waterproofing material, for example, roofing material or geotextile, is placed on the pillow.
  7. Install the formwork. It should rise 30–60 cm above the ground.
  8. A reinforced skeleton made of metal rods 1.2–1.6 cm in diameter is mounted inside. The rows are connected to each other with hard wire.
  9. In order for the base to come out even, without defects, there should not be any chips or cracks on sheets of plywood or OSB (if wooden formwork is mounted). It is also worth pre-moisten the inner walls of the formwork or wrap in a layer of polyethylene.
  10. Cement-concrete mortar is poured inside the structure. You can buy it or prepare it yourself using fine-sieved river or quarry sand, crushed stone of fine fraction, cement powder and water.
  11. The formwork is removed in 5–14 days, depending on the average daily temperature. The first few days, to prevent deformation, the base is watered with water 3-4 times a day. To protect the foundation from precipitation, a blind area is poured from greasy clay and rubble at a slight angle, 1 m wide, as shown in the diagram below.
  12. Cement completely hardens and gains strength only after 28 days.

Important!   Do not forget to leave the ventilation holes with a diameter of 8–12 cm in the foundation tape and build a separate foundation for the stove, if you plan to use the heater.

At this stage, it is necessary to provide for the wiring of water supply and sewage systems, electricity and gas can be installed without problems later.

Types and sequence of masonry walls

Construction of brick walls should begin after waterproofing the foundation. For this purpose, rolled materials such as roofing material, tekhnoelasta, stekloizola or various bitumen and bitumen-polymer mastic are used. Most often, walls are built on a single-ligation system, as it is simple, and it can be installed alone without any special difficulties. This design is a change of spoons and butt rows of bricks. It is used when the use of the face layer of facing bricks is not planned.

For those who are not familiar with the technology of laying walls: a spoon row is a row of bricks that fit with their side along the wall, and the back row is laid with short ends to the outside of the wall.

There are three main types of masonry brick walls:

  • Solid masonry when brick is laid in two rows without a gap between the rows.
  • Masonry with a ventilation gap of 40–60 mm.
  • Lightweight masonry. It consists of two walls, between which the insulation is filled, whether it is expanded clay, fine slag or other analogues.

Most often it is the third type of construction that is used, since it allows you to reduce pressure on the foundation and save on building materials, since bricks are quite expensive nowadays.

No less popular is solid masonry, as it is more durable and reliable.

Regardless of the type of masonry chosen, they all start from the corners. First you need to lay out six rows of bricks on the solution in the corners. Along each row is necessary to hold the cord. They are wrapped with nails, which are inserted into the seams between the bricks at a distance of 3-4 mm from the vertical of the row. The cord helps to determine the evenness of the laying. For this purpose also use the construction level and plumb.

The base of the bath, if necessary, should be laid out of solid brick, and the walls themselves - of hollow.

When laying it is important to work quickly so that the cement mortar does not have time to grab. If construction work is carried out in the summer, the brick is pre-moistened with water. The thickness of the layer of this solution should be 2-3 cm.

There are several variations of continuous masonry, among them:

  • "Single order"
  • "Multi-order"

They differ in that with a single row, there is a constant change of the tychkovy and spoon series, and with a multilayered masonry system, the tychkovy rows go through 5-6 spoon rows.

When laying butt rows, it is necessary to apply the solution with an indentation of 10 mm when filling the seams and 30–35 mm when laying the wasteland. If you have bricks lying around with any defects, do not rush to throw them away, it is better to use for laying masonry rows, in addition to the corners and supporting zones.

Internal load-bearing walls should be at least 20 cm thick. Transverse walls usually consist of halves or quarters of bricks. If the length of such a pier exceeds 1.5 m, then they must be further strengthened with a reinforcement belt every three rows.

Door and window frames are mounted directly in the process of laying. In the side of the openings set wooden bars as thick as a brick. They are wrapped with a layer of roofing material and plastered.

It is also necessary to equip the ventilation holes. Typically, in such baths installed ventilation system supply and exhaust type. It consists of two holes: one regulates the flow of air, the second - the exhaust hole. The first is best located under the bottom of the stove, and the second - as far as possible from the heater, 7–8 centimeters below the ceiling level. You can also provide special valves to help regulate the flow of air in the steam room.

Calculating the number of bricks

Due to incorrect calculations, beginners often acquire one and a half times more material than it really needs. To understand how much it is necessary to buy bricks, the area of all walls is calculated separately, excluding the area of door and window openings. The number that happened is multiplied by the thickness of the walls. When calculating, be sure to consider the thickness of the bricks themselves and mortar joints between them.

To facilitate this process, you can use tables from open access or special online services. If you decide to create an individual bath project, it is better to contact the specialists - they will help to carry out all the necessary calculations.

Roof and floor for brick bath

The roof structure can be any: one, two or more ramps. The more complex the roof structure and the greater the angle of inclination, the more expensive the installation of the roof. The sequence of work also depends on the choice of design.

Holes for special mounting pins are drilled in the upper rows of walls. Mauerlat and ceiling lags are mounted on top of them. In the case when the ends of the beams are in contact with the brick walls, they are wrapped with roofing felt. After installing the beams make the flooring of unedged boards. It is also necessary to provide a hole for the chimney.

To ceiling lags served longer, they must be further covered with a layer of waterproofing. For this purpose, you can use fabric absinthe, which is attached with the help of construction brackets. Over poured a layer of a mixture of clay and sawdust in equal proportions. As soon as the mixture shrinks, it is sprinkled with sand. The place where the chimney will be in contact with the ceiling, it is necessary to further insulate and install metal sheets there.

After that collect the truss system. On the mauerlat the truss legs are fastened with the help of metal corners and screws.
