TIP: When you brought gardenia from the store, you do not need to immediately replant the plant. Shrub needs to adapt to new conditions. Immediately place the pot on a permanent "place of residence" - it is on the window sill, where gardenia will live.

This plant does not like moving, transfers, transfers, so it is better to immediately find a permanent place for it. Replace gardenia in another pot a few days after purchase.when the flower is already used to a new house (you can learn about how to make gardenia at home).

Lighting

Gardenia is a tropical plant, which means it is very fond of heat and needs sufficient lighting. The light should come to the pot all day. It is better to choose, therefore, for the maintenance of the plant, the southern or western windowsill.

In winter, the light plant may not be enough, so it is often necessary to provide the southern beauty with additional light, attracting artificial lamps for this.   Arrange artificial light sources at a distance of 60-70 cm from the pot.

In the summer midday heat of gardenia requires protection from direct sunlight. To provide this protection, shade the window with a light cloth or translucent paper. This measure will help preserve delicate flowers and leaves of the plant.

It is not necessary to turn the pot with a plant, as many do, trying to provide sufficient lighting for the whole bush. Gardenia does not like permutations, including a simple turning around its axis of the pot. Shrub can react very violently to such turning over: it can also throw off leaves and flowers.

Temperature

The plant is thermophilic, so you have to maintain the optimal temperature in the room. In summer, tropical bushes are suitable for content at + 22-24 degrees, and in winter - at + 18-20 degrees.

Soil temperature should coincide with air temperature.. Especially important is the optimum temperature during the flowering period of the plant.

Air humidity

For tropical plants need high humidity. This moment is especially important during the period of tying the buds: the high humidity of the air will provide a copious amount of the latter. The lack of moisture in the air can lead to the fall of the buds, their grinding, deformation, and the loss by the plant of its decorative effect.

To ensure optimum humidity, before blooming and after flowering the plant must be sprayed. As soon as the buds bloom, spraying must be stopped., because water droplets can leave ugly spots on the petals. In the summer, spraying should be carried out several times a day, in winter - once a day is enough.

For spraying, it is better to purchase a sprayer with the smallest holes - in this way not even droplets will fall on the plant, but simply water spray. The air humidification procedure is recommended in the morning and evening hours - but not too late, because the leaves must dry completely before the darkness arrives.

Watering

The plant needs a sufficiently hydrated substrate.. Watering is done on top of the ground. If after watering into the pan excess water escaped, it must be removed after 20 minutes. The soil in the pot should always be a little wet: do not allow any waterlogging or drying of the substrate.

It is recommended to dissolve several grains of citric acid in water for irrigation, or to add natural lemon juice (2 drops / grains per liter). This way you soften the water and make it optimally acidic.

Best of all, the plant will feel itself, if you place wet expanded clay or sphagnum on the bottom of the pot - this natural drainage will provide the plant with optimal moisture.

The soil

Gardenia loves soil with high enough acidity  - it is necessary to provide the plant with just such a substrate. It is recommended to change the soil in a pot every couple of years in the spring before the beginning of active growth of the flower. During the flowering period, it is forbidden to change the substrate in the hill, as this may lead to the fall of the buds.

At the bottom of the pot under a layer of soil, there must be a good drainage from expanded clay or sphagnum: such an interlayer will provide the plant with an optimal level of moisture. Gardenia should not be grown in a soil with a high lime content.

The following soil composition is ideal in this case.:

  • leaf earth - 1 part;
  • coniferous substrate - 1 part;
  • sod land - part 1;
  • peat - 1 part;
  • river coarse sand - 1 part.

You can mix a similar composition on your own, or purchase ready-made soil for azaleas.

Details about what kind of soil is suitable for gardenia, what to look for when choosing a soil, you can find out in.

Top dressing

To provide home gardenia with all the necessary minerals, it is best to use liquid fertilizers. If you buy a ready-made complex, then choose one in which there is no calcium - this mineral is contraindicated for gardenia, it has a bad effect on the growth and development of this plant.

Feedrate frequency - once every two weeks. Pay attention to the state of health of the flower and the symptoms that sometimes appear on its leaves and petals.

So, if yellow spots are visible on the foliage, it means that the plant has a need for trace elements, especially iron (why gardenia turn black, yellow and fall leaves and how to help the plant, read). If a similar symptom is found, mineral supplementation should be carried out more often - every 7-8 days.

Ready-made mineral compositions suitable for orchids and azaleas are suitable for feeding.. To provide the plant with all the necessary substances, it is necessary to prepare the nutritional composition in full concentration, and not in half, as indicated in almost all packages with fertilizers.

In addition to ready-made complex fertilizers, gardenia can be fed using home methods. So, you can buy a substance such as actiferrin in a pharmacy and dilute it with a tablespoon into a glass of pure water. The resulting solution should be watered shrub every two weeks.

What to do to accelerate growth?

In order for home gardenia to grow more actively, to increase its pomp and decoration, it is necessary to cut the flower from time to time. Pruning is done after the shrub has faded.  - that is, in the fall.

IMPORTANT: In order to give a new strength to the plant, it is necessary to tackle weak, thickened shoots - they should be shortened by about half.

If you pluck the young shoots during the growing season, the shrub will grow more magnificently, and it will also bloom more abundantly. Use healthy and strong stalks that remain after pruning for breeding gardenias - ready-made planting material should not disappear.

Transplanting a new pot

Pruning

This procedure allows you to extend the flowering period of the plant, make it more abundant.. In addition, properly done pruning will allow the bush to grow more lush and compact.

Pruning is carried out in the autumn after the end of the blooming gardenia. Cleaned up half weak and thickened shoots. If during the growing season periodically pinch young shoots, gardenia will grow more lush, and it will be better to bloom.

Conclusion

So, we have considered all the features of care for a tropical beauty gardenia. As you can see, the care of this capricious plant is not so simple - but the magnificent decorative effect and the delightful fragrance will be able to thank the grower for his work.

Gardenia is a small indoor plant with fragrant flowers. In their homeland, in Japan, the bushes are bred in the gardens. But in countries with a cool climate, even beginning flower growers grow it at home. Consider what care for her.

The most popular variety for home breeding is the jasmine. The plant has leaves of a saturated green shade. In the apical part small flowers are formed, three in one inflorescence.

Gardenia requires attentive care. Only with careful observance of all the rules can you achieve positive results. If it is wrong to care, it can become cause of death of the plant.

Gardenia - a very fastidious flower to care

Humidity and watering a flower

In the spring and summer periods requires careful watering. The soil should always be wet. At the same time it is necessary to ensure that water is not collected in the pan. Watering should be reduced during the winter months.

At this time, the plant slows growth, so it does not need a lot of moisture. If during this period the plant is watered abundantly, then its roots will begin to rot, leaves will fall. As a result, the plant will die.

Water for irrigation  must be:

  • soft;
  • separated;
  • room temperature (leaves may turn yellow from cold water).

Once a month, watered with slightly acidified water. To do this, add a few drops of citric acid to the water.

  Clean, settled water is not uncommon in caring for indoor plants.

Proper watering includes following the rules:

  • the pot is not recommended to be placed in a pan with water;
  • it is possible to refresh the leaves with a spray bottle, sprayed several times a day in the summer, one time is enough in the winter;
  • it is unacceptable to hit the water on the buds, they can fall off.

High humidity is harmful to gardenia, especially during the formation of buds. The flower feels comfortable in moderately moist soil. To prevent water from stagnating, you need good drainage.

Room temperature and lighting

Gardenia loves light, but an excess of sunlight can damage the plant. Therefore, flower pots are better placed on windows facing west or east. In winter, the plant can be transferred to the south side and provide it with additional artificial lighting.

If the buds are tied, you can not rearrange and move the pot. For normal growth and development of the plant it is necessary to maintain the following temperature:

Summer 22-24 degrees
In winter 18-20 degrees

Flowering period  starts in the warm season. Usually from May to October. Overcooling should not be allowed during this period, the roots must be kept warm.

Soil selection

Gardenia feels good in acidic nutrient soil. It should be loose and well pass air and moisture. You can buy the soil for azaleas, it is suitable for gardenias.

  The soil can be made by yourself, the benefit of all the components are added in equal proportions.

When preparing the ground yourself, prepare mixture of equal parts:

  • peat;
  • sand;
  • needles;
  • turf

Sand can be replaced with vermiculite or perlite, but these substances will need twice as much. Another option involves a mixture of equal amounts of peat and sand, in this mixture put a little peat moss.

Before transplanting the plant, the soil should be treated to kill harmful microorganisms. To this end, the earth is calcined on fire or in a microwave oven.

Pruning

Flower bushes needed regularly prune. During the procedure, remove weak branches, eliminate thickening. I pinch the tops of young branches in order to better grow and develop new branches and tie buds.

Using trim keep the shape. Forming the top contributes to lush flowering. This procedure starts from the second year of life. Cut from the tops of the twigs can be used as cuttings. And put them in the water for rooting.

Top dressing

Twice a month, gardenia feed up. This mode is maintained during the period of active growth. In cold weather: in autumn and winter, fertilize the flower not necessary.

For food it is better to use liquid fertilizers. In the summer they fertilize alternately with organic and mineral fertilizers. Peat-humic substrates are used as top dressing.

When the leaves begin to turn yellow, they should be treated with a weak solution of metal sulfate.

On the gardenia during the flowering period may start harmful insects. Such pests usually affect:

  • thrips;
  • shield;
  • spider mite;
  • flour worms.

  Sinus is not lethal to the flower, but insecticide treatment will be required

If the leaves were covered with cobwebs, a tick got on them. Need to process  Karbofos or Intavir.

Winter care for gardenia includes three main points. The first condition concerns lighting. In winter, the flower lacks light. And since gardenia is a light-loving plant, it can get sick with insufficient lighting.

In winter, additional lighting is required. For lighting using fluorescent lamps.

The second condition is temperature. In winter should not be hot. During this period, the plant does not develop and does not bloom. In the cold season, the air temperature in the room where the flower is located should not be above 18 degrees. At night, the temperature is reduced to 16 degrees.

The third rule concerns watering. In winter, it should not be abundant. With the onset of the cold season, watering is significantly reduced, and the soil should not be allowed to dry out.

Why gardenia does not bloom

With the wrong care will be bad to bloom, to reset the buds. To avoid this, you should observe the following rules:

  • gardenia loves moisture, but its excess can harm and cause the plant will rarely bloom;
  • sudden changes in temperature affect gardenia; drafts should not be allowed;
  • you can stimulate flowering with fertilizers rich in phosphorus and potassium.

If in winter the plant was kept in conditions of high air temperature, then by spring it may not bloom. In winter, requires special care.

  Increased humidity in the winter can cause non-flowering

Diseases

With insufficient attention, the flower can hit different diseases. Under the influence of disease starts dropping leaves  and buds, its foliage turns black or yellow. Problems arise for various reasons:

  • leaves fade - due to insufficient watering, or, conversely, excess fluid;
  • leaves turn yellow due to lack of nutrients;
  • drops the leaves - dry air, damage to the roots or a spider mite wound up on the plant;
  • blackening of the leaves is due to excessive dryness of the soil, in which case fertilizers will be required, including iron in their composition;
  • buds fall off - insufficient or excessive watering, violation of temperature conditions.

To grow a full-fledged plant, you need know the rules of care  and strictly observe them.

If the flower buds are poorly disclosed, watering is carried out boiled, passed through a filter with water. Perhaps gardenia is not enough light or increased humidity. To speed up the flowering process, you need to find and fix the problem.

Transfer

Transplant is an important part of care. For the procedure should be prepared:

  • flower pot;
  • soil;
  • expanded clay;
  • fertilizer.

To transplant proceed only if when the flower blooms. Better to do it in February. Transplanting is necessary if the plant was purchased in a store. Often sold in small pots, where the plant can not grow.

Immediately after the purchase, gardenia does not need to be transplanted, it must first adapt to a new place. It will take a couple of weeks.

Transplanting is also needed in cases where the root system has developed so much that it has woven an earthen room. Sometimes the roots peep out of the drainage holes.

  Make sure the roots do not touch drainage.

The transplant procedure includes the following steps:

Transplanted flower set in a warm place. Young plants are required to repot annually. For adults will be enough once every three years.

Breeding

Gardenia can be propagated in two ways:

  • grafting;
  • seeds.

Most often resort to cuttings. Apical cuttings should reach 10 cm. They are cut in February or March. After cuttings are cut, they are placed in prepared warm soil.

The process of rooting in Gardenia lasts a long time. To speed it up, the cuttings are first placed in water so that they give roots, and only then planted in the ground. Such a method is fraught with difficulties and cannot always be crowned with success.

For breeding seeds:

  1. acquire high-quality planting material
  2. seeds deepen in the prepared soil to a depth of 4 - 5 mm
  3. the soil is slightly compacted
  4. landing regularly sprayed with water

The first shoots should appear after a month. A plant that has been planted in the seed way will only bloom two years later.

  When breeding seeds it is important not to overdo it with their deepening in the ground

Having mastered all the rules of growing gardenia, you can achieve amazing results.

A distinctive feature of gardenia, making it one of the favorites for florists, are snow-white or pale pink flowers, externally, for the most part, resembling roses or having the shape of a six-pointed star with petal-shaped curved blades. Terry inflorescences and single flowers densely cover the stems.   Depending on the variety, the diameter of the flowers can vary from two to ten centimeters..

Some types of gardenia have a yellow color of petals, which can vary with the life of the plant, from white when blooming, to orange before the flower falls.

Gardenia inflorescences exude a unique fragrance.

When and how many buds bloom?

Gardenia blooms from May to August. Flowering can last up to six months, but it depends on the size of the bush and the number of buds formed, which bloom alternately. In rare cases, it may re-bloom in deep autumn.

The necessary conditions

  • In a room where gardenia is contained, there should not be sudden temperature drops.
  • The soil for growing gardenia and its active flowering should be acidic.
  • You need to place the flower in a well-lit place, but not in direct sunlight.
  • At the stage of bud formation it is impossible to unfold a flower relative to the light source and transfer it from place to place.

Care rules

Does not bloom

Why?

  1. Not enough sour soil.
  2. Hard water for irrigation.
  3. Lack of trace elements.
  4. Regular waterlogging of the substrate.
  5. Temperature changes.
  6. Dry air.
  7. Pest damage.
  8. Mechanical damage to the buds.

On the care of this flower, we will discuss further. Jasmine-shaped gardenia is an amazingly decorative flower, but at the same time quite capricious.

The plant should be provided with a suitable temperature and humidity of the air, sufficient watering and feeding - only in this case it will be possible to enjoy its long and effective flowering.

We talked in detail about the types and popular varieties of gardenias.

Flowers

Tropical shrub gardenia blooms very picturesque and decorative.  The plant is remarkable in that its flowers are quite large, often terry, resembling the shape of a rose. The color of the petals is most often white, sometimes yellow, cream, pink.

Gardenia flowers are very delicate, so it is important not to damage them.

Note!  Water during irrigation and spraying should not fall on them - on the petals may remain ugly brown spots.

Bud opening process

When does the bush bloom? The most decorative period of the plant lasts from May to August.  For four months, the happy owner of this beautiful indoor plant and its guests can enjoy the magnificent view of blooming fragrant shrubs.

If the care of the plant is on top, the gardenia can bloom for six months in a row. And, on the contrary, if the conditions of the content of the whimsical beauty are not satisfied, then she may not bloom at all, or throw off the already formed buds.

Flowers do not open all at once, but alternately: thus, there are always several full-blown buds on a bush.

Faded flower stalks must be removed in time to give way to young shoots and flowers.

Necessary conditions and proper care

In order for the plant to successfully form buds, and then bloom for a long time, it needs to provide optimal conditions. Next, we consider the main points that you should pay attention to if you want to enjoy the rich flowering of gardenia.

Temperature

The temperature of the air in the room should be in the summer within + 22-24 degreesand in winter + 18 + 20 degrees. Such conditions are optimal for the southern flower.

Humidity

Gardenia needs sufficient air humidity: for this it is necessary to regularly spray gardenia. Use a fine spray for spraying.

If there is a shortage of moisture in the soil and air, gardenia will respond to this by dropping the buds. You understand, about any rapid flowering in this case, there can be no talk.

Important!  As soon as the buds bloom, spraying must be stopped so that water droplets do not leave brown spots on the petals.

Top dressing

In order for gardenia to bloom profusely and continuously, it needs additional nourishment. It is better to use both organic and mineral compounds.Comprehensive dressings are best suited - select the appropriate ready-made composition in the store.

Note that with properly selected and produced dressings gardenia forms abundant lush buds that do not fall off for a long time.

Top dressing should be carried out on the entire period of the active growing season: that is, from March to October. Fertilizer application frequency - every 7-10 days.  In some experienced gardeners gardenia can bloom almost year-round - in this case, fertilizing is required to produce all the time while the bush blooms.

The plant feels and looks best if there is enough iron in the soil. This mineral is also directly reflected on flowering. As a source of valuable mineral for gardenia, it is best to use solutions of iron chelate salts.

On a note!  When feeding, eliminate formulations containing magnesium and calcium: these trace elements of gardenia are not suitable, and can even destroy the plant.

In the period of active growth and flowering of gardenia, phosphorus and potassium are necessary - be sure to feed the shrubs with such compounds. Thanks to the potassium-phosphate dressing, gardenia will begin to bloom more abundant, more luxuriantly, and longer.

Transplants

Should know that blooming and transplanting gardenia - incompatible concepts. The shrub reacts by dropping the peduncles even on a simple turning of the pot, what to speak of transplanting. Therefore, transplant gardenia only before the growing season, in early spring.

How to transplant gardenia at home, you can learn.

The soil

The plant loves acidic soil. If you originally planted it in a sour soil, then over time, due to irrigation, the acidity will decrease.

therefore watering periodically with citric acid added to water  - this measure will help provide the soil with the necessary acidity. Optimal acidity of the soil will help to make the aroma of blooming beauty the most pleasant and intense.

Why doesn't it bloom?

We will find out why gardenias do not bloom for a long time, what to do and how to deal with it correctly.

The reasons for the lack of flowering of this tropical beauty can be the following factors:

  • lack of soil acidity;
  • hard water when watering;
  • temperature drops;
  • lack of lighting;
  • dry air;
  • mineral deficiency (or overabundance).

Cultivation and care:

Conclusion

So, we learned how and when the gardenia blooms, and what can be done to make the shrub more elegant and lush. As you can see, it is necessary to provide quite a lot of conditions for the safe flowering of gardenia - however, the magnificent appearance of the blossoming buds and their fragrance will more than compensate for all the efforts.

Gardenia (Gardenia) is famous for large, white flowers like roses. During the flowering period from summer to autumn cold, fragrant, terry buds tightly cover the stems.

Named a flower in honor of the Scottish botanist naturalist Alexander Garden.

The natural habitat of the flower has chosen the subtropical zone of Japan, India and China. At home, the flower is grown not only for decorative purposes, it is used to prepare medicines for various ailments. A decoction of the roots and fruits process wounds and burns of the skin, doing a rinse with tonsillitis and stomatitis.

From luxurious gardenia get anti-inflammatory, hemostatic and antipyretic drugs. Chinese medicine uses the plant for insomnia and fatigue, headaches.

Fragrant oil, extracted from gardenia flowers, is in demand in cosmetology and perfumery. Flower petals of a number of plant varieties are added to tea as a flavoring.

Common varieties

In the world there are about 250 species of plants. Among flower growers such are popular:

  • Gardenia jasmine (Gardenia jasminoides)  considered the most popular home culture. The indoor gardenia flower (see photo) has dark green, shiny, dense leaves about 10 cm long and beautiful fragrant flowers. White star-shaped flowers form inflorescences. With good content will bloom all summer. In room conditions it grows by 50-70 cm, while in natural it is up to 1.8 m in height.
  • Yellow or Gold (Gardenia carinata)  different unusual colors that can change color. First, white buds bloom. Over time, they change color to lemon yellow, at the end of flowering, they turn orange. Under room conditions, growth is slow. It takes several years until the bush turns into a graceful tree. At home, this variety of gardenia grows to 10 m.
  • Citriodorum (G. Citiodora)  Attractive and neat bush deserved love flower growers. A small plant is decorated with leaves of a lanceolate form with a glossy surface. Snow-white flowers of small size, up to 2 cm in diameter. Despite its small size, its strong, rich aroma is not inferior to other varieties.

Description

Gardenia belongs to the family marenovyh. The gardenia flower (pictured) is an evergreen shrub and a reduced tree species. Strong plant stems bare or pubescent. Glossy leaves with stipules are placed opposite.

The flowers are yellow or white in color have a single arrangement or shield for 4-6 pieces in the inflorescence. During the flowering period in summer or autumn, terry and semi-double flowers spread a pleasant scent. The plant is periodically cut to form an artistic crown.

Conditions of detention

The indoor gardenia flower loves light and warmth. The plant reacts poorly to excess moisture and sudden changes in temperature. The plant must take a permanent place, because even small movements of the pot and turning the plant leads to dropping of flowers and leaves. Direct sunlight should also be avoided so as not to lose flower buds.

Suitable for gardenia western or eastern window. In winter, additional illumination is required, which is placed at intervals of at least 1 m from the plant. On the lack of lighting buds react badly.

In the summer, gardenia will appreciate a stay in the garden or on the balcony. With the onset of cold nights, you should avoid overcooling the root system and bring the flower into the house.

In spring and summer, the conditions of keeping gardenia are quite warm - not lower than + 22 °.

In winter, for bookmark flower buds gardenia need + 16-20 °. With an excess of heat in winter, gardenia will not give flowers, and at lower temperature conditions, roots may rot. It is important to maintain one temperature of air and soil.

Watering and humidity requirements

Maintaining an optimal moisture regime for gardenia is the basis of flowering and beauty.
  The soil is constantly kept wet, avoiding drying out. In the winter, they water it two days after the topsoil dries out.

Water is used warm and slightly acidified every 2 weeks by adding 3 drops of lemon juice to 1 liter of water.

Watering with acidified water is especially important in the case of planting a bush in a universal ground. To create the desired acidity, water for irrigation is infused with peat or iron sulfate is added to water (0.5 g per 1 l of water).

Violation of the irrigation regime leads to yellowing of the leaves, and new leaves grow small. At the same time, wet soil should provide access of oxygen to the roots. In the growth and budding phase, the indoor gardenia flower needs high humidity. To do this, near a flowerpot with a flower have containers with water or use a very wide pan with a large area of evaporation, which is filled with moss.

Do not forget about regular spraying with warm water twice a day. During the flowering period, spraying is stopped, and replaced with wiping the leaves with a damp cloth. Drops on the open flower causes the formation of brown spots that violate the decorative.
  Adult bushes are fed every week during the warm period.

Top dressing for a plant is chosen with a high indicator of acidity and without calcium. Young saplings are fed with organic matter and mineral fertilizers 2 times a month.

Pruning

After flowering, sanitary pruning of the bush is carried out. To be removed are weak and diseased cuttings, stems with faded flowers. Thickening bush shoots shortened by half or 2/3.

Formative pruning start with shortening the central stem by 10-15 cm. Lateral processes are trimmed. After pruning, tillering of the plant will begin.

After decorative cutting, cut healthy cuttings are used for rooting.

In the vegetation phase, the upper parts of young cuttings are pinched in order to improve tillering and stimulate the budding of flower buds.

Reproduction of gardenia

The gardenia flower (pictured) is propagated by cuttings and seeds.

For reproduction of a flower, semi-woody cuttings 10 cm long are used. The reproduction process is planned for spring or early autumn.

The prepared stalk is immediately placed in a moistened peat soil with sand and covered with a jar. For better rooting, before planting, the cuttings are immersed for several hours in a solution of potassium permanganate or a growth and root formation stimulator.

Container with seedlings held at t = 25 °. Periodically air and spray cuttings.
  About rooting will indicate the emergence of new processes. This will happen about a month later. The grown young plant is moved to the main pot. After the adaptation of the plant should pinch the top to form a beautiful bush.

Pests, diseases

Among the pests that infect a flower are:, and. The diseased plant looks depressed, the leaves fall off, the buds turn black, and the flowers fall off. In the event of infection, the plant is treated with a plant-based insecticidal preparation that is safe for humans. In case of severe damage, spraying is repeated at intervals of 7 days.

Often, growers have to observe the abscission of the formed buds. The reason is a violation of the temperature regime during the period of rest, errors in watering and changing the position of the flower relative to the light.

The change in leaf color to yellowish is due to the use of hard water and content at low temperature. Yellowing leaves gardenia irrigated with iron sulfate.

In the case of meshelkovy chlorosis and yellow stains on the leaves, you need to pay attention to the composition of the soil. It must be sour. In the absence of an annual transplant, the top layer of the earth with white calcium deposits is changed once a year.

Weak flowering or lack thereof indicates lime content in the soil and insufficient acidity. Flowering does not occur at low temperatures, low light, when the air in the room is dry.

When to replant gardenia

Adult plants in a few years (3-4 years) transplanted into fresh ground. Works are planning for early spring or waiting for the end of flowering.

The use of a special soil as for azaleas with high acidity will help to ensure the required conditions.

The substrate can be prepared independently by mixing equal parts of turf, leaf and coniferous soil with peat and sand. The soil needs loose with acid reaction.

The volume of the pot should not differ much from the previous one, otherwise the rooting period will take a long time.
